#27 Address Your Addictions
Part of the human struggle is to rise above our addictions and live with a free and unlimited spirit. Those compulsive needs rooted in substance (such as alcohol, drugs and food) are apparent. Those rooted in behavior are less discernible-overspending, overworking, gambling and exercising power. More toxic than all of the above are the addictions described by negative emotions-misery, disappointment, fear and victimization. But no matter which of these is operating in your life, the price you pay is the death of your freedom and loss of peace in your spirit.
Your soul’s purpose is to temper everything in your lower nature and live free of compulsive needs. Seek to be guided in this by your Higher Self.
Your soul’s lesson: Rise above a state of denial and then name your addictions. They’re robbing you of your creativity and peace and must be conquered now. Your soul is asking you to suffer the discomfort of breaking loose on every level. When you’re free of these forces, you can tap into the unlimited creative power of your Divine Self. Pray for the Universe to help you and then accept its aid. You can either live in the joy of your unlimited creative power or you can dwell with addiction, but you can’t exist with both.
